About our teachers
About our teachers
Are all your teachers female?
Yes, without exception. Every teacher at Madina Teaching Institute is a qualified female hafiza trained in Tajweed.
Why do you not show teacher names or photographs?
It protects our teachers’ privacy, and the families we teach consistently tell us they value that same discretion. You will be matched with one teacher and will get to know her well through the lessons themselves.
What qualifications do your teachers have?
Every teacher has memorised the Quran and is trained in the rules of Tajweed. [[FILL: any further certification you want stated, e.g. Ijazah, degree, years teaching]]
Will my child have the same teacher each week?
Yes. Consistency matters, particularly for children, so we keep the same teacher with the same student.
Lessons and scheduling
Lessons and scheduling
How long is each lesson?
Around 30 minutes for most students. [[FILL: confirm standard lesson length]]
How many lessons a week do you recommend?
For most school-age children, three a week works well. Hifz students usually need five. Adults often prefer two or three. Your teacher will advise after the trial.
We live abroad. Will the timings work?
Yes. We teach families across the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and the Gulf, and we schedule in your local time rather than ours.
Can we reschedule a lesson?
Yes, with reasonable notice. [[FILL: how much notice is required to reschedule]]
What if the internet drops during a lesson?
It happens. Your teacher will reconnect, and if the lesson cannot continue it will be made up rather than lost.
Getting started
Getting started
Is the trial class really free?
Yes, and we do not take card details to book it.
What does my child need?
A device with a camera and internet, plus a Quran or Qaida. Headphones help but are not essential.
My child is very young. Is that too early?
We teach young beginners regularly. Lessons are kept short and gentle for small children.
Can adults join?
Yes, including complete beginners and reverts. Many adults start from the Arabic letters.
Safety and comfort
Safety and comfort
Can I sit in on lessons?
Always, and you never need to ask permission first. Many parents watch the first few lessons and then check in occasionally.
Are lessons recorded?
Not without your explicit permission. [[FILL: your recording policy, if you have one]]
Can my daughter keep her camera off?
Yes. The teacher needs to hear recitation clearly, not to see the student.
How do you keep children safe online?
Lessons are one to one with a known female teacher, parents may join at any time, and we do not share student details with anyone. Our full approach is in the privacy policy.
Fees and payment
Fees and payment
How much does it cost?
Fees depend on lessons per week. See the fees page.
Is there a joining fee?
No.
Can we cancel at any time?
Yes. There is no long-term contract. [[FILL: notice period for cancellation]]
Courses
Courses
Where should a complete beginner start?
With Noorani Qaida & Basics.
Should Tajweed come before Hifz?
Usually yes. Memorising with incorrect pronunciation means memorising the mistakes too.
Do you teach Islamic Studies as well?
Yes, see Islamic Studies & Duas.
