Course

Quran Classes for Adults

It is never too late. Many of our adult students start with the Arabic letters, in a private lesson where nobody else is listening.

Who it is for

Is this the right course?

  • Adults who never had the chance to learn as children
  • Reverts to Islam starting from the very beginning
  • Parents who want to keep ahead of what their children are learning
  • Adults who read but know their pronunciation needs correcting
  • Anyone who felt embarrassed to ask questions in a group class

What you will learn

Covered in this course

  • Arabic letters and sounds, if you are starting from zero
  • Joining letters and reading short words
  • Reading from the Quran with correct Tajweed
  • The short surahs needed for salah
  • Memorisation, if and when you want it
  • Understanding the duas you already say daily

How lessons run

In practice

Lessons are private and one to one, which for most adults is the whole point. There is no group to keep up with and nobody hears your mistakes but your teacher. Timings are flexible, so lessons can sit early, late, or at weekends around work.

Pace and fees

How long it takes

Adults often move faster than children through the reading stage, because they can practise independently between lessons. How fast depends mostly on how much you read between classes.

Questions

About this course

I am a complete beginner and a bit embarrassed. Is that normal?

Very. A large number of our adult students start exactly there, and the lessons are private precisely so nobody else is in the room.

Can I have a female teacher?

All of our teachers are female hafizas, so yes, always.

I work shifts. Can the timings move week to week?

Yes. Tell your teacher your schedule and lessons can be arranged around it.
